"Your present circumstances don't determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start." - Nido Qubein   Living with a physical disability must not be easy for anyone and the government needs to do something to help these people. Adapting the city for their needs is something that has to be mandatory for any country.   Since the first day I arrived in Austin I realized how the city is adapted for all its citizens. There are elevators in all the buildings, access  for the people in wheelchairs and the most amazing is that the buses are adapted for them also. This morning my friends and I were going to “The Domain '' and a lady in wheelchairs got into the bus. She couldn’t walk and she was also blind. I thought how wonderful it is that she is able to go wherever she wants and that is thanks to the fact that the city has all the facilities for disable people. I really think that mental health is just as important as physical health.   This Saturday we were taken to the Bullock State History Museum. There is a special exhibition about mental illness. I found it very interesting as they try to make us think about mental illness. There a...

Writing Class!

Imagen
During this summer in Austin we are taking a writing class that will help us to develop our skills as writers. I have to confess that writing has always been very difficult for me, even in Spanish!  This photo was taken after the second writing class and I think everybody was very excited as we had been working on combining sentences. We were a bit confused at first, but at the end we could do the exercise. I really enjoyed the class and I hope to learn a lot and change my mind about writing.
